PROPERTY SETUP GUIDE
HOW TO MAKE YOUR PROPERTY VACATION RENTAL READY
So you just purchased your home away from home, whats next? Below is a little step by step on how to get things rocking and rolling. If you need us to help with this process, just let us know!
STEP BY STEP
Step 1- Furnish the property: Get in all the beds, dressers, sofas etc. See our guide below for a complete list of furnishings expected in a typical rental unit.
Step 2- Put in all desired amenities: The little extras can make a big difference in setting your property apart from the competition. See the guide below for details on items guests love.
Step 3- Stock the supplies: Toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies and other items are standard in a vacation rental. See the guide below for the details on what is normally stocked.
Essential Supplies to keep in stock.
-
Dish Soap
-
Dish Sponges
-
Dishwasher tablets
-
Garbage Bags
-
Laundry Detergent
-
Hand Soap
-
Paper Towels
-
Toilet Paper
-
Floor cleaning solution
-
All Purpose Cleaner (like 409)
-
Window cleaning solution (like windex)
-
Laundry Soap
-
Fabric softner
-
Cleaning Rags
-
Toilet Cleaner
Step 4- Setup access control: We normally recommend a keypad be installed on the main door (many can be found online via amazon or other websites). If this is not possible the property should have two lock boxes. One for the guests to use when they check in and the other as a backup in case a guest loses the key or gets locked out.
Step 5- Decorate: Decor is how you add that special touch that makes your property unique. Getting a professional interior decorator or a property staging company can be very helpful when preparing the home for its photoshoot.
Step 6- Schedule services: Setup landscaping, pest control, pool services etc as well as internet and utilities.
Step 7- Have professional photos taken: Contact us to get a professional photo shoot scheduled for the property. This is very important. People don’t book homes, they book pictures of homes. Make your look amazing!
And thats it! You should be ready for your first guest! Below are more details about furnishing your unit.
